Bob Clouser School
This spring the cold weather seems to be holding on. I think back on the 10 years I have been guiding and I can't remember a colder or more dreary spring. My thoughts lead me to warmer weather and smallmouth bass fishing. Fishing for smallmouth has always been a passion of mine, and my favorite weekend of the year is the Clouser school in early June.
The one thing I recommend to all our smallmouth anglers is to treat yourself to this school. Those of you who have not spent any time around Bob will enjoy the experience. Sometimes in our sport, fame leads to egos but Bob is truly down-to-earth and approachable. He is a wealth of knowledge and is one of the true legends of our sport.
You will acquire new skills for smallmouth bass that will also translate to the other species you fish for. The cast, fishing techniques, and fly tying will all improve your overall skills as a fly angler. The days on the water will allow you to put these techniques into practice. Then at the end of the day you can bend Bob's ear if you have any questions or want to compare notes.
The Clouser schools is a must for any smallmouth angler who wants to improve their skills and learn from the best. The opportunity to spend time with Bob is a joy and something that anglers like me will remember for the rest of their lives. Treat yourself to a weekend with Bob--you deserve it.
