Youth Fly Fishing School 2015

Do you want to give your child or grandchild the learning experience of a lifetime? Every summer, our staff collaborates with our friends at the Pine River Trout Unlimited to teach youth the art of fly fishing. Our property is perfectly suited for teaching: we have a bluegill-stocked pond behind our fly shop that the kids will learn to cast a fly rod (and have the opportunity to catch a fish!), plus our conference center is turned into a classroom setting so that they can learn about gear, how to tie knots and build leaders, and learn insect life cycles and fly selection. Lunch is provided for all of the kids plus any parents or guardians who want to stay and watch the class.

This one-day school will be on August 8 from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm for any child age 10-18, but we only allow a maximum of 25 kids so advance registration is required. There are a few spots still available. To sign your child or grandchild up, call the fly shop at 231-848-4191.
