Schmidt Outfitters has resort lodging facilities for guests, classes, and the public in Wellston, Michigan. Wellston is a short drive from the city of Manistee, and located in the middle of some of the best Michigan Rivers for fly anglers. Our lodging is far away from any highway...no noise here! All of our lodges are non-smoking, no pet facilities.

Each room has....

Every room has two queen-sized beds, a kitchenette (which includes a microwave oven, coffee maker with coffee, dinerware for 4, full size refrigerator, dining table and 4 chairs, a Weber gas grill on the deck), and television. Walls are white pine, and bathrooms are stocked with linens. Our standard room has both queen size beds in an open floor plan, while the deluxe accommodations have separate bedrooms. The deluxe rooms also have fireplaces. All rooms have adjustable heating and air conditioning units.

Rates and Availability

Room rates are based on the accommodation and priced per room rather than per person. The standard room is $85 nightly, while the deluxe room is $100. Rooms must be reserved with a credit card. For the cleanliness and safety of all our guests, pets of any kind are not allowed. Please do not ask.

Our cancellation policy on lodging is as follows: if you cancel your lodging 48 hours prior to your scheduled arrival, you will pay no penalty. If you do not cancel and do not show up, we will charge your credit card for the room fees.

If we have openings after our guided fishing guests are accomodated, we then rent to the non-guided public. Lodging inquiries should be made as you plan your trip to ensure you get lodging. Any questions regarding this and other policies need to be directed to Ray Schmidt of Schmidt Outfitters.

Now Available - New Cabin for Groups

We  rent out this house about eight miles from our fly shop and lodge. It is a brand new cabin in located by the mouth of Pine creek and the Mansitee River. Has two bedrooms with queen beds and a loft with four twins. Two bathrooms with showers. Available for $250.00 per night. As you can see this is first class!
